The story
Captured in the waterways of Kabini, Karnataka, South India, The Swirl follows a herd of Asian elephants moving together through the water in an unhurried procession. At the heart of the scene, one elephant lifts its trunk and sends an arc of water into the air, creating a striking moment of playfulness amid the herd's steady advance. The photograph celebrates both the strength and social bonds of these remarkable animals.
Supplied with a serialised Ivory & Ink certificate of authenticity and framed in the UK by a Guild Certified framer.
The Swirl is a celebration of the social spirit and enduring majesty of the Asian elephant. Moving through the waters of Kabini in a graceful procession, the herd creates a living current that ripples across the landscape. At the centre of the scene, one elephant raises its trunk and sends a spray of water into the air, creating a dynamic focal point that contrasts beautifully with the calm movement of the group. The image captures both the immense physical presence of the herd and the unexpected playfulness that lies beneath its strength, revealing a side of elephant behaviour rarely witnessed with such intimacy.
