The story
Photographed in the rain-soaked forests of the Western Ghats, Maharashtra, India, The Prize captures a Black-backed Dwarf Kingfisher holding the reward of a successful hunt. The bird's vivid colours and confident posture transform a simple act of survival into a moment of quiet triumph. For a fleeting second, the hunter pauses, allowing us a glimpse into the hidden dramas unfolding within the forest every day.
Supplied with a serialised Ivory & Ink certificate of authenticity and framed in the UK by a Guild Certified framer.
The Prize captures a moment of hard-earned success in the hidden worlds of the Western Ghats. Perched against a softly blurred background, a Black-backed Dwarf Kingfisher displays its catch with unmistakable confidence, a lizard held firmly across its vivid red beak. The extraordinary colour palette of the species, combined with the razor-sharp detail of the photograph, draws the viewer into a rarely witnessed moment of wilderness drama. Dr. Satish transforms a brief episode of hunting behaviour into a portrait of determination, skill, and survival.
