The story
Santhana Krishnan's doors come from more than 20 years of looking closely at everyday life in India, where a door is worn smooth by hands, weather and time. In Door 1948, he turns to the door as a keeper of memory, one that has welcomed families home, watched the seasons change and quietly carried on. It is a work about continuity, and about the comfort of a place that is always there.
Supplied with a serialised Ivory & Ink certificate of authenticity and framed in the UK by a Guild Certified framer.
Door 1948 is a mixed-media work on wood that celebrates the doorway as a place of welcome and return. Layered with colour and worn texture, each piece is a unique edition.
Mixed media on wood, 2026. Image size 30.48 × 50.8 cm (12 × 20 in). Unique, 1 of 1.
